As you will see on the next pages of this guide, I recommend you conduct a search in OneSearch first. It can help you figure out if your keywords are getting results or if your topic needs more fine-tuning before moving onto the databases, which will search a sub-selection of journals. If you have trouble, read through these common issues to see if they help. If not, contact me!
I can't get into the databases!
Try logging in to our homepage first. Look at the bar on the bottom of the page - does it say "Limited Access"? If so, click on it to log-in.
I can't get the full-text of an article I want.
We have access to many articles but not all. However, we can get them for you! Click on the "Full-Text Finder" or "Find It" link in any database. After you set up your Interlibrary Loan account, doing so will automatically fill out the form you need to request the article. We are still doing these requests during the pandemic. Hopefully, the turnaround time will remain 24-48 hours.
No results!
Let's talk. You could have a truly novel topic (groundbreaking!) or you could be using the wrong resource or keywords. A lot is trial and error, and I'm happy to take a bit of struggle out of the process.
