Getting Started with Databases
The library has many, many databases that contain different information. For example, a database named CINAHL only contains health-related information while Business Source Complete contains primarily business journals. Some databases are not centered on a subject but rather the type of information they contain, e.g. only news or only statistics.
Below are some databases that contain a wide variety of information, are easy to use, and good for dipping your toes into databases. You will definitely use more specialized ones as you get into your majors.
A multidisciplinary source for scholarly full text articles.
What to check out other databases?
Both require research, but in different ways:
Writing a report = you do some research and churn out facts
*topic-based, it summarizes existing information
Writing a research paper = you analyze a topic and form an opinion/argument
*question-based, uses data and ideas as evidence to support your position
