ENC 1102: English Composition II

What is a podcast?

A podcast is a digital audio file made available on the Internet for downloading to a computer or mobile device, typically available as a series, new installments of which can be received by subscriber automatically.

Since we're going to use Audacity for our podcast, I highly recommend using their well-organized wiki for questions and help: Audacity Wiki

The producer of my podcast recommends Googling your questions and watching YouTube videos to learn.

Podcasting Best Practices

But what if I don't want to read all of that? Well, you should...but here are a few highlights:

  • Know the purpose of your podcast.
  • Know your audience. You make have to be professional or you may have the ability to be raunchy.
  • Less is more. (What does that mean? Read the above link.)
  • Connect with your audience (get them to participatez)

And don't forget, PLAN YOUR CONTENT!  Refer to your assignment sheet for your podcasting outline.
