Document the Quality of your Research - CUTLA Workshop

What “counts” as high quality, high impact scholarship? How can you communicate the scholarly value of work disseminated through traditional print journals or Open Access journals? What are the warning signs of a “predatory publisher?” This session will also discuss Creative Commons licenses and address how faculty can improve the impact of their scholarship by disseminating their work through outlets such as the UWF Institutional Repository.
Facilitated by Melissa Gonzalez (Reference Librarian), Andii Johnson (IR Specialist), and Dr. Claudia Stanny (CUTLA Director).

Banned Books Week Workshop / Freeze Mob
The American Library Association’s Banned Books Week is an annual awareness campaign that celebrates the freedom to read and speaks out against censorship. Encourage your students to join the UWF Libraries Wednesday, September 26th, for a "Banning Books Silences Stories" workshop that will begin at 11:15 in the Great Good Place of the John C. Pace Library followed by a fun 3-minute reading "freeze mob" on the Cannon Green at noon. Everyone is welcome to attend or participate in either event. Questions? A public reception celebrating the exhibit of over 100 paintings by local artist Loretta Menendian and her students will be held at the UWF Emerald Coast Library on Thursday, November 15, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. Refreshments will be provided!
