MLA Citation Style, 9th Edition

This guide will assist you in formatting your in-text and Works Cited citations in MLA, 9th Edition, format.

Tweet (Twitter Post)

Use the person's twitter "handle" as the author. Since tweets are short, include the tweet in its entirety. Include the date and time posted, as well.

Example:

Trump, Donald [@realDonaldTrump]. "Wow, the Fake News media did everything in its power to make Republican Healthcare victory look as bad as possible. Far better than Ocare!" Twitter, 5 May 2017, 4:22 p.m., twitter.com/realDonaldTrump/status/860635815277453313

Email

Use the sender/writer of the email as the author and the subject line as the title. Then state who it was received by and include the date.

Example:

Sparks, Kellie. "July M&O Meeting." Received by Britt McGowan, 25 June 2018.
