MLA Citation Style, 9th Edition

This guide will assist you in formatting your in-text and Works Cited citations in MLA, 9th Edition, format.

Podcast Episode

For podcasts, you will generally put:

- Creators/Narrators*
- The title of the episode in quotation marks.
- The title of the podcast,
- Season #, Episode #,
- Publisher (may be a larger website),
- Date published, if available,
- URL

*Note: Depending on your focus, you may put the hosts, narrators, or creators as the authors, or you may not. You can begin with the title of the episode instead and list various contributors after the title of the podcast series.

Example:

Poor, Nigel and Earlonne Woods, hosts. "So Long." Ear Hustle, season 2, episode 19, Radiotopia20 June 2018, www.earhustlesq.com/episodes/2018/6/20/so-long

In-Text Citation Example:

Hosts not in text, direct quote:

Prisoners often look forward to their release date even as they feel remorse. As one inmate puts it, "Yes, I look forward to getting out of here, but at the same time, you know, a man's life is, is, you know, is lost" (Poor and Woods).
