Why Libraries

The UWF libraries are here to help you make the jump from high school to the academic environment the university. You will experience many new challenges and learn new skills as a first year student. Please be sure to reach out to librarians for help - even for questions that aren't related to a class assignment.

  • Not sure where to start? Check out our FAQ.
  • Use the Library to find information for class assignments, to study, and to collaborate with other students.
  • Get help for specific subjects or classes with Research Guides.
  • Find a study space for yourself and your friends.
  • Check out laptops, kindles, cameras, and other equipment.
  • Learn how to find sources, formulate research questions, choose topics, and organize papers using Library Tutorials.
  • Print out your syllabi, papers, and articles.
  • Grab your free textbooks (for two hours) at any of the three university libraries.
  • Visit the library website for current Hours of Operation.
