Here a list of open library workshops that are available on a drop-in basis.

Spring 2016 Workshops

Below are the open library workshop listings for Spring 2016. All workshops will take place in the Library Classroom, Rm. 123 of the John C. Pace Library.  Most are open to all and first-come, first-served -- just drop in!*

Library Research Orientation

February 3rd 1:00-2:00pm
This workshop provides an introduction to library research. In the workshop, we will cover library services, as well as how to find scholarly articles from our databases and books from our catalog.

Finding Data & Statistics

February 4th 2:30-3:30pm
Learn how to find data and statistics using free government web sites for business information and Library databases for demographic statistics such as income and population growth.

Poster Design

March 29th 2:30-3:30pm

This workshop is intended for students who will be designing posters that display their scholarly work. Design tips and software will be covered.

Presentation Feedback Sessions

Have an upcoming oral presentation due in a class? You may practice your presentation in the library classroom and get feedback from a librarian before "the big day"! Groups and individuals may sign up to present before a librarian. After the presentation, a librarian will provide feedback on your presentation and give you tips for improvement.
