Software Available Skylab

Were always adding new software to our computers in Skylab. The link below is a partial list of what is available, call or come by the lab for more information in regards to software availability.

 If you are a professor or instructor and would like to have an app added to our computers please let us know. If the software is free, we will add it to our computers. If your department has extra licenses for paid software or if UWF has a site license for a software program that you are using in conjunction with a course we can work with you to get the software added to our computers in order to give students more access to the program.

Skylab Information

The University of West Florida Skylab in the John C. Pace library is a student oriented 21st century learning space that was constructed with the technology needs of students in mind. The Skylab consists of a non-traditional computer lab, information literacy classroom, multimedia studio and media conversion center.

Personal assistance with computer software and hardware is available. Experienced library staff and students are available to assist you with the software and hardware located in the Skylab. Additionally, reference books on the most popular software titles are readily available for use in the Skylab.


3D Printing

3D Printing

We are now proud to offer 3D printing and scanning as services in the 5th floor Skylab.  The services are focused on supporting nnovative instruction and providing UWF students, faculty and staff the opportunity to learn about this technology and create 3D objects.

This resource can be utilized to create prototypes and physical models for class projects and more.Patrons can learn 3D modeling and create anything that they can imagine, or simply download pre-existing 3D models and learn about how the 3D printing process works.

This service is provided with a nominal fee to cover the cost of materials (plastic filament) and routine maintenance costs associated with operating and maintaining the 3D printing equipment.

Basic printing fees:

Small prints (2 hours or less) $1.00

Medium prints (2 to 4 hours)  $2.50

Large prints (4 hours or more)      $3.50

Grams of plastic used 10¢ per gram
